I’m a Coffee Snob…and This Frozen Coffee Is the Reason I Get Up in the Morning

I hate to say it, but Cometeer makes a better cup of coffee than I do.

Instant Coffee, But Better

My adult life has been filled with a plethora of coffee experiences as a self-professed coffee connoisseur—OK, fine, addict. In addition to a high-end espresso machine, I also have a fancy pour-over setup for special occasions, a Chemex, and a french press. I use them all, and thought I’d tried it all…until Cometeer popped up on my Instagram feed.

The concept is simple: coffee concentrate made with beans from award-winning, small-batch roasters across the world, delivered to your doorstep on ice in single-serving pods. Why didn’t I think of that??? The second I landed on their website, I knew I had to get my hands on some.

Like Having a Barista in Your Freezer

I didn’t want to like Cometeer. As I popped my first light roast pod from Counter Culture Coffee in Durham, NC into a cup of hot water, I thought “Now this is just too easy. There’s no way this’ll be as good as my coffee.” Unfortunately for my ego, I was wrong. And while using Cometeer’s products is as simple as it gets, that doesn’t mean a whole lot of obsessive testing, dialed-in production, and sophisticated technology aren’t involved before the single-serve pods are shipped to customers.

While the convenience factor of Cometeer is probably what many people love most about the brand, what really impressed me was the quality. It starts with the beans: sourced from renowned roasters all over the world, like Go Get Em Tiger Coffee Roasters from Los Angeles, Square Mile Coffee Roasters from London, and Birch Coffee from NYC.

Then, comes the roast. According to their website, they “developed a proprietary extraction system that optimizes all the variables that lead to great coffee — so all you have to do is melt and enjoy.” Do I know what goes into that? No. Do I know they know what they’re doing? Absolutely. Once the coffee has been expertly brewed, it’s flash-frozen with liquid nitrogen to preserve peak freshness.

Cometeer is a revolutionary company, and once you’ve tried it, you’ll never go back. And great news: you can feel good about supporting the environmentally-conscious brand. Not only do they use recyclable aluminum capsules and shipping boxes, but they even work with a composting company to compost the grounds once they’ve given up all of their magic. Full circle, baby.

You Can Thank Me Later

If ease of use, portability, and indulging in the best of the best are important considerations for you when it comes to your cup of morning joe, you need to try out Cometeer. All you need to get started is a cup of hot water (although I’ve also been known to make an afternoon affogato or a cheeky oat milk dirty chai when I need a little pick-me-up).

On Cometeer’s website, you can sign up for a monthly subscription, which includes 32 coffee pods from four unique roasters for $49 for first-time customers. After that, it’s $69 per month. Select from a variety of light, medium, and dark roast combinations, or switch it up every month. The world is your caffeinated oyster! Now head over to Cometeer’s website right now to see for yourself why I can’t shut up about this brand.
